ABOUT ME

katelyn curation is a culmination of years of experimenting with arts and crafts. I've had brief encounters with some (scrap booking, knitting - my mom got a LOT of scarves turned wash cloths), a fascination with others (watercolor, pottery), and longer affairs with a few (friendship bracelets, sewing). Throughout them all, I have been drawn to crafting hand-made cards. I started out with crayons and markers, and as I got a little older, the computer (Word Art, anybody?). Eventually, I added elements of scrap booking and collaging to the mix, and even tried my hand in watercolor (sorry for anyone who got those cards).

In 2023, I was intrigued by visible mending, where you take clothes that have holes or stains in them and repair them in fun, distinctive ways, such as with colorful embroidery or patches. I took a class from a local business to get me started and I absolutely loved it! As usual, I found a way to pair this creative embroidery experience with my love for card making and the seed for katelyn curation was planted.

Over the past year, I've been designing cards, learning new embroidery techniques, and honing the process and presentation of my creations. Now, I bring these hand-made embroidered cards to you in hopes that you want to share these little works of art with your friends and family, too.
